The issue of pay transparency and equitable compensation is not new. However, the pressure on organizations to explain and prove fair pay continues to increase, both culturally and legally. Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) took center stage this year. Investors and board members put increased pressure on executives to measure, report on, and compensate leaders based on ESG performance. In parallel, pay equity and pay transparency are in the spotlight, with surround-sound calls for equitable pay from the new federal administration, more expansive state laws, and employees themselves.
