Senior Project Manager  PA

Total Rewards is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a multi-year enterprise-wide project that will serve as a catalyst in enabling meaningful career paths for crew and leaders across Vanguard. In this role, you will act as the Senior Project Manager overhauling our current Job Architecture by identifying roles across the enterprise that can be streamlined, simplified and consolidated into more clearly articulated responsibilities, qualifications, and job families. Through this work, in partnership with leadership teams across divisions and countries, Total Rewards will be able to support the enterprise-wide initiative to better define career path opportunities for all crew across Vanguard. The ideal candidate will be an expert in project planning, stakeholder and change management. The ideal candidate will also have a strong analytical skillset to assess and simplify large sets of data in developing recommendations to senior leaders across the organization. Strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and analytical skills are a must. A strong understanding and appreciation for various Vanguard business operations, and their interdependencies is preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Defines strategic direction, establishes business needs and priorities, and draws on business acumen to scope, size, and resource program/project initiatives. Works closely with management team to develop and implement staffing and operational plans. Participates in the development of short and long term goals for the department. Influences and negotiates with key client decision-makers. Effectively communicates issues and provides corrective strategies/recommendations as well as the likely business impact of those recommendations. Actively supports the program governance process. Communicates effectively with senior leadership to provide visibility into project status, issues, and matters requiring strategic support/direction. Oversees forecasting, business planning, and financial/budgetary reporting. Provides financial leadership to internal clients to ensure business planning and budgeting requirements support changing business' project objectives and goals. Oversees business project planning and methodology, with a focus to continuously improve the business' project management capabilities. Leads large, matrixed project teams and interfaces with cross functional or cross divisional team members. Provides direction and motivation to project teams and is accountable for effective execution and quality project management. Develops strategic reporting of both financial and project performance insight data to inform Executive leadership of direction/progress. Focuses on continuous improvements to strategic reporting. Leads crew in designing and managing the project reporting process. Creates a positive environment while effectively challenging the status quo, championing key business initiatives and gaining senior manager support. Participates in special project and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: An undergraduate degree required. Master's degree preferred. Five to eight years general experience inclusive of five years industry and project management experience. Financial services industry experience preferred. Excellent leadership, judgment, and influencing skills. Demonstrated ability to manage large, diverse projects and project teams. Ability to work across multiple functions, divisions and senior-level leaders. Ability to work well under deadline pressure. Proven ability to prioritize work and to complete complex tasks which have conflicting deadlines and multiple stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong executive presence with proven experience in stakeholder management and change management. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills. Strong Excel analytical skills preferred. Strong forecasting and management reporting skills. Special Factors: This senior-level Project Manager role is applicable for positions that will oversee multi-year projects with enterprise-wide (cross-divisional) implications.
